5 Reasons to Love Williamsburg

There are so many reasons to love Williamsburg. Here are some of our favorite things about our new neighborhood:

1) Easily accessed
Most people think of Williamsburg as a bridge between Manhattan and the rest of Brooklyn, and in many ways it offers the best of both worlds: proximity to Manhattan but with some major Brooklyn benefits, like more space and a more relaxed vibe. Not to mention, it’s a transport hub. Hop on the L, G, J, M, or Z trains, ride a Citi Bike over the Williamsburg Bridge, or take the ferry to work!

2) Heavily caffeinated
There are endless places to enjoy coffee and the culture that goes along with it. Toby’s Estate and Blue Bottle are hugely popular, and places like Sweatshop offer an Aussie perspective on caffeine. Or, try Macha Bar for something a little different.

3) Conveniently coastal
Some of the best things in Williamsburg happen right on the water. Weekends on the waterfront draw thousands of people for the Brooklyn Flea outdoor market and Smorgasburg, one of the most sought-after food markets in NYC. Smorgasburg is the home of the most indulgent food vendors out there, including the ever-popular ramen burger.

4) Globally brewed
Williamsburg residents love beer halls. Thankfully, local spots like Berry Park and Brooklyn Brewery fuse boozing with games and food trucks. But the most well-known beer hall in Williamsburg is actually a Bier Hall. Radegast is a destination for all New Yorkers seeking out that quintessential German Biergarten experience.

Cultured Brews

In Williamsburg, it’s not a bar, it’s a Biergarten.

5) Community centric
Local shops and boutiques line the streets of Williamsburg, and craft fairs like Artists & Fleas celebrate artisanal and handmade items. This is a neighborhood where you’ll get to know your local shop owners and see local faces while walking down the street. So far at Common Havemeyer, we’re loving Northerly and Foxy Greens for our morning coffees and juices. We can’t wait to keep exploring the area and see what amazing local spots our members find.
