The Kogod Courtyard

Sitting in between the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard provides a bright 28,000-square-foot space for museum-goers to rest, eat, and enjoy musical performances. The signature wavy glass-and-steel ceiling floats over the courtyard and lets in natural light, making it a perfect place for a distinctive, contemporary photo. Blind Whino

A building that was once a vacant church for over 20 years has been transformed into a colorful performance space and community center called the Blind Whino. Georgia-based artist Hense painted the outside of the building with bright, psychedelic graffiti that serves as an eye-catching background for an Instagram post. Inside, you can find an event space, a rotating art gallery, and a community garden that serves the neighborhood.

CityCenter

Enjoy the sunshine, go shopping, and take photos at the Instagrammable CityCenter. The famous alleyway in the heart of D.C. is decorated for each respective season and holiday, which means you can take photos here all year round. Expect twinkle lights in the winter and kites in the spring. While you’re there, you can also check out the 30 shops and eateries and take breaks in the brightly-lit public spaces.

Georgetown

Washington D.C.’s oldest neighborhood has sights to suit everyone. Full of historic architecture, cobblestone sidewalks, and multi-colored row houses and shops, this destination can’t be missed on your journey to capture the ultimate Instagram post. Every step along Chesapeake & Ohio Canal or through M Street will be picturesque.

Little Leaf

Need some plants to liven up your room? Check out Little Leaf in Logan Circle. You’ll find all sorts of greens, including succulents, fiddle-leaf figs, and ivy plants as well as paper goods and other gifts. Shop Owner Amanda McClements curates this commercial jungle tailoring to customers’ plant and photo needs.
