Spending Valentine’s Day in the Pacific Northwest? Here are 5 romantic spots in Seattle to enjoy the beauties of the city, the great outdoors, and a whole lot of love.

Spend a whole day in Lower Queen Anne

Lower Queen Anne is a wonderful neighborhood, full of museums and city sights to take delight in. You can enjoy concerts, art fairs, and presentations at the Seattle Center, one of the city’s most popular gathering places. Right next door is the Chihuly Garden and Glass, where you’ll be mesmerized by Dale Chihuly’s avant-garde, glass-blown art installation. Obviously, you’ll want to spend some time at the Space Needle Observation Deck since it has the most iconic view of the Pacific Northwest.

Once you’re done with those must-see destinations, walk toward the Olympic Sculpture Park by the water, and enjoy 9-acres of beautiful sculptures and great works of art for free.

Visit the Volunteer Park Conservatory

Give yourself plenty of time to walk through this beautiful botanical garden and conservatory in Capitol Hill. You can expect to see lush greens and a breathtaking Victorian-style greenhouse made up of 3,426 glass panes (an iconic spot for engagement photos).

On the night of Valentine’s Day, there’ll be live performances, light hors d’oeurvre and drinks, and twinkling lights for the perfect celebration of nature, music, and love.

Picnic at Kerry Park

If you want more private and intimate time, head a few blocks away from downtown to Kerry Park, one of the most romantic spots in the city. You can pack some food, wine, and a blanket to have a picnic with a scenic view — almost as good as the one from the Observation Deck. Be a romantic, and even time your visit just right so you can catch the sunset.

Explore Pike Place Market and Downtown

Be a tourist, and immerse yourself in the sounds, smells, and sights of the Market. Watch the guys throw the fish, get some yogurt at Ellenos, and work your way through the mazes of the Pike Place Market. You’ll find something new each time, from its many bookshops and record stores to antiques and gift shops.

If you haven’t had enough sweets at the Market, then head to Fran’s Chocolates, a neighborhood institution, and enjoy a case of handmade truffles and a perfect cup of hot chocolate. If you’re too full, then walk over and take a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel. The ride takes you forty feet above ground, so you’ll get to see gorgeous views of downtown, Elliott Bay, Bainbridge Island, and more. Night or day, it’ll be worth the ride.

Restaurants

End the night with a delectable dinner at Seattle’s finest restaurants. The Pink Door is located in Pike Place Market and offers a moody atmosphere, amazing Italian-American dishes, and nightly entertainment. Expect both dinner and a show at this popular spot.

Chef Thierry Rautureau takes you on a culinary adventure at Loulay Kitchen & Bar. There’s high-energy bar seating, a delicious French-fusion dinner menu, and undeniable desserts. (Beignets! Profiteroles!) Dress nicely and head to Canlis for a four-course dinner or a seven-course tasting menu with an optional wine pairing. The lounge is walk-in only, so get there early to indulge in this treat.
