Chicago has a special place in our hearts at Common. It was the second market we launched in after New York City, and for the past three years has been home to hundreds of Common members across four locations. Our latest addition to the Chicago market is Common Addams, a 223 bed ground-up coliving home that perfectly encapsulates our vision for community, convenience, and design — starting at just $1000/mo. If you’ve ever spent your first night in a new home on a mattress on a floor, or the first week in a new city eating takeout on paper plates, you’ll appreciate the convenience of coliving at Common Addams. Each suite comes fully furnished, from the bed frame and mattress in your own private bedroom, to the cozy couch in the living room, and even the pots and pans in the cabinets. All of your household essentials (think everything from toilet paper to dishwashing soap) , WiFi, utilities, laundry, and free weekly cleanings are also included in their rent. Coliving at Common also makes meeting new people and finding community easier than ever before. Our Connect by Common app allows you to RSVP to virtual events, chat with other members in your home, and meet members across your city and the country based on interests.
Designed to be shared
Extra space goes a long way when living with roommates, which is why we designed the suites at Common Addams to be shared comfortably. Take for example the spacious kitchens — there’s plenty of cabinet and fridge space for each member, and the kitchen islands provide extra prep and dining space, so multiple people can be cooking in the kitchen at once. Common Addams also offers high-end appliances, large windows for plenty of natural light, and furniture sourced from leading brands. Along with their own private living room, each member has access to a community lounge on their floor. The lounge spaces are the perfect balance between the small community space within the suite and the large community space of the amenity areas, offering you more room to relax, work from home, or meet other members than you’d find in a traditional apartment building.
Living in a building with luxury amenities doesn’t have to come at a luxury price. Common Addams offers 4000 sq feet of amenities ranging from a co-working space and movie room, to a rooftop decked out with comfortable furniture and incredible views. We designed these amenities using feedback and data from our members, along with two internal studies, to provide you with spaces you’ll love using. On the first level of Common Addams, you’ll find a community lounge, co-working space, kitchen, and movie room. The space combines various open layouts and moments of privacy, perfect for meeting other members or working from home. The first floor also has a fully equipped gym, and a package room and bike room, and even offers below-level parking. For moments of quiet, the third floor is home to a yoga and meditation room. Take the elevator to the roof to experience beauty 360 views of the city. The roofdeck at Common Addams comes completely furnished with couches, tables, lounge chairs, and even grills, perfect for spending a day in the sun, or getting fresh air while you work.
