Jeffery Flores

What’s your favorite thing about working at Common?

Originally, I chose to join Common due to the stress I had as a facility manager at my previous job. After being burnt out on a day to day basis, I decided to quit and go to Mexico for almost 2 months! I figured that was enough time to land somewhere I actually wanted to be. After speaking a few times with the Common team and doing my own research,  I decided that it was a company where I could grow and stay for a longer period of time. My favorite thing about my first week was the support from my supervisor and his readiness to answer all of my constant questions!

Do you have a memorable story of an interaction with one of our members?

Absolutely! On my second day of work, I met a member living in one of our studios. He was an older gentleman who immediately approached me to introduce himself and get to know me. Prior to Common, I worked at a retirement facility, so I’m very familiar with elderly citizens who want someone to talk to when they can. Almost on a daily basis, I make it a point now to speak with him and let him steer the conversation until it ends. It’s great for both of us!

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid, I actually wasn’t planning to be anything when I grew up. Only to be outside as late as I could every day!

What’s your favorite on-the-job snack?

Hot Pockets.

What’s your favorite place?

Anywhere with my little brother. We were all we had growing up, so it doesn’t matter where we are as long as we were together. That’s my favorite place!
