Hi Oscar! What does a typical day as a Maintenance Technician look like?
Every day working as a Maintenance Technician is different, and I love it! My responsibilities include checking service requests and following up with any pending matters from the previous day across all of my buildings. From member requests to refilling the shared goods to assisting with property deliveries, the days always go by quickly.
What was your first week at Common like?
Since I was hired at the beginning of the pandemic, I didn’t know what to expect. Thankfully, Common provided me and my team with all the PPE needed to perform our jobs as safely as possible and set high regulations and standards to protect the employees and the members.
What’s your favorite part about working at Common?
Especially as a field employee, most workplaces will simply give you instructions or a specific duty and not involve you in company matters, but I love that I feel included in everything at Common. The leadership team does a great job of keeping everyone informed and involved. Also, it feels great to work with other Maintenance Techs in a team and putting my 30+ years of experience to good use.

I love that it never sleeps!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a fine furniture maker.

My beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

Honestly, I like them all! It’s hard for me to pick just one.
