How Reuben’s apartment search was simplified with Common

TwitterPinterestFacebook

Searching for the perfect apartment can be time-consuming and stressful, and Reuben didn’t have all the time in the world — he only had two weeks. Reuben was starting a new job in Washington D.C. and not only needed to find a place to call home, but needed to find a place he loved. Enter Common at National Landing.

Keep reading to learn more about Reuben’s apartment search, his experience at Common, and why he loves living in National Landing.

Hi Reuben! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi, I’m Reuben Riley and I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. I’m a US Army IT Officer in my 9th year of service. I’m currently working as a Joint Staff Action Officer for the National Guard Bureau at The Pentagon. I love my family, fitness, sports, music, and am also a foodie! I’m a believer in Christ, and strive to promote nothing but positivity everywhere I go!

How did you find out about Common? What has your experience been like so far?

When I was assigned to work at The Pentagon, I had less than two weeks to find an apartment (in a brand new city I’ve never been to outside of a White House tour my senior year of high school!) This was a super stressful transition, but I found Common after a Google search and here I am five months in!

The great customer service experience set the tone for my living experience. Common’s staff is really helpful, they were able to answer any questions I had. The staff and other residents in the building are really nice. I was greeted with open arms (and masks) by mostly everyone I’ve encountered at Common. Common creates so many opportunities to engage within the community, meet new people, and create friendships.

What was your apartment search like?

I was desperately in need of a place to move into and I called the toll-free number immediately and was told that I would get a call back when an associate was available to discuss move-in options, pricing, tours, etc. That call came 5 minutes later, which led to an in-person tour only 30 minutes later, and I agreed on my unit within the hour. The process was seamless and right from the start I was all in for this “Common” way of doing things working with their staff on a comfortable move-in date, deposit, etc.

Can you tell us a little about a great memory you’ve made while living at Common?

One of my favorite memories was the Thanksgiving dinner that was hosted for all the residents. This was great for a lot of people who couldn’t travel back home to see family for whatever reason. It was nice for residents to come together and get to know each other further building the community aspect by which Common strives for! I had an awesome time, ate some great food from different cultures, and met even more people within the Common community.

What are some reasons why you think other people should live at Common at National Landing?

Convenience! As a full-time commuter, I go everywhere by bus, train, or on foot. Common at National Landing is so close to the Metro and so many shops, restaurants, and attractions. Another reason I chose Common at National Landing is because of the garage located under the building. Coming from the south, where we couldn’t get snow if we prayed for it, I’ve noticed that in the northern states, snow comes at any moment’s notice. The garage coverage makes parking more secure, covered, and easily accessible. I also love how the doors are all phone app technology-based, with the ease of getting in and out swiftly without worrying about misplacing keys.

How do you think Common makes city living easier?

Common really handles everything for us! The team is great with package retrievals, awesome with apartment cleaning for coliving spaces, the maintenance team gets things fixed in a timely manner, and lastly, Common hosts events to interact with other members.
