Lakeview East is one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Chicago, close to the water and even closer to all of the best nightlife, trendy boutiques, and happenings. Thinking of joining the community in Lakeview East? Here’s everything you need to know.

The biggest mystery when you arrive in Lakeview is simply where to start having a great time. With a seemingly never-ending docket of happenings in the area and awe-inspiring buildings across downtown Chicago, it’s easy to distract yourself from seeing everything you want to. We’ve got you covered with the must-sees, drinks, dos, and eats. Get around to all of them on the CTA bus or public transport!

Lakeview East restaurants

There are so many restaurants lining the streets of Lakeview East, with nearly every cuisine you can imagine. A new favorite comes by way of Sushi + Rotary Sushi Bar if sushi on a conveyor belt sounds like a delicious evening to you. Other neighborhood gems include The Gundis Kurdish Kitchen on Clark Street with Mediterranean flavors and Bluebird (also on Clark Street) for new American eats. What would a neighborhood be without a go-to diner as well? Stella’s brings the down-home vibes to this vibrant neighborhood for a great meal with friends or post-night out breakfast.

Bars in the area

Lakeview has a great drinking scene and diverse bars for everyone, from local breweries like DryHop Brewers to more traditional pubs like Wilde Bar. If you’re looking for a dive bar, Delilah’s on Lincoln Avenue is the way to go, but we personally recommend the speakeasy at Lower Broadway, tucked away just under Brendan’s, and perfect for a great cocktail.
