What you can rent in Hancock Park for under $2000

TwitterPinterestFacebook

When it comes to Los Angeles neighborhoods, Hancock Park is anything but up-and-coming. The historic district, which has been called home by celebrities from Greta Garbo to Mindy Kaling, is rich with beautiful architecture, palm-tree lined streets, and plenty to see and do. It’s no surprise that it’s a desirable location — and not just for its picturesque homes and star power. Hancock Park is also a rare neighborhood, one with a suburban feel only minutes away from the best of city living. Residents are just a short drive or walk (looking at you, East Coast transplants) from some of the city’s most popular destinations, including The Grove, LACMA, and the Original Farmer’s market.

Popularity comes with a price, though. The average rent for a studio apartment in Hancock Park is $1695 — certainly not the highest price in the city, but a tough sell if you’re on a budget. Especially because that price isn’t always reflective of what’s actually on the market.

To get a better sense of the rental market, and how Common’s own Hancock Park home compares, we took a look at the best apartments available in the neighborhood for under $2000.

4901-15 Beverly Boulevard

$1695/studio

4901 Beverly Boulevard is located in a recently renovated building a few blocks away from restaurants, shops, and everyday conveniences. The unit’s studio apartments feature basic kitchens with ovens, refrigerators, and granite countertops. Outside your studio, you’ll find on-site laundry and even a pool! This unit might be a great fit for someone looking for a smaller space, and is reflective of the average rent price in the area.

328 N Gardner St Unit 4

$1999/1-bedroom apartment

If you’re looking for more space than a studio, this 1-bedroom apartment at 328 N Gardner might be for you. While the unit hasn’t been recently renovated, the apartment is clean and relatively spacious, with air conditioning units built-in. There’s even a courtyard — perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. But besides those features, the apartment lacks a few everyday conveniences, like a dishwasher and on-site laundry.

Common Beverly by Category

4847 Beverly Blvd
$1250/private bedroom in shared coliving suite

Located on the east side of Hancock Park, only a few blocks from Larchmont Village and Paramount Studios, Common Beverly by Category might be one of the best deals in the neighborhood. As a resident, you’ll rent a private bedroom in a fully-furnished shared suite, with access to a host of cool and convenient amenities. That includes a rooftop deck, regular cleanings, private balconies, parking, in-unit laundry, and a shared lounge — and that’s the start. If you’d rather move back home with mom and dad than even try to live with roommates again, we get it. But if you’re looking for shared and city living made easy, at a great price point, why not book a tour?
