Why did you choose to work at Common?
At the time, I was seeking to change careers from the hotel industry. I began looking for work and Glassdoor was one of my main tools. Common had great reviews and the website was super appealing. I applied, received a call back within a week, and the rest is history!
How would you describe your overall ‘interview/onboarding’ experience?
I joined when we were very much still in the EARLY start-up phases so processes were much different and not as automated. Since then, Common has launched a new and very efficient hiring process due to fostering and building a strong People Ops and Recruiting team.
What was your favorite thing about your first week at Common?
As we all know, starting a new job can feel like the first day of high school. You’re the new kid in town, and now, it’s lunchtime… My first week was the complete opposite of that norm. The team was overwhelmingly inviting and approachable. We still try to keep the tradition of all eating together, but the table’s not big enough!
Can you describe your growth experience at Common?
I started off as the Office Manager when I first joined Common, remaining in the position for a little over 1 year. After voicing some interest in joining the leasing team, I was encouraged by my manager and colleagues to make the move. I joined the leasing team and found a new passion. I am now a Senior Leasing Specialist due to taking that leap and manage a team of 11 leasing specialists. I’m thankful to have had a team that supported me in and through that journey.
