Hi Andrea! What’s your day-to-day like at Common?
Hi! I work on the Renewals and AR team and every day is different — which is one of the things I love most about this industry. All the unique challenges, opportunities, and wins keeps the days exciting and keeps me on my toes. Some days are filled with meetings and collaborations, and some days are quiet and more execution-focused. Regardless of the tasks, I always end the day knowing something I didn’t know the day before.
How has your role changed since you started?
I started Common as Portfolio Manager and currently, I am the Director of Renewals and AR. I’m now helping with our structure and processes, and I’m optimizing revenue for our company and our clients.
What’s your favorite part about working at Common?
Hands down, the people. Common is loaded with incredible talent and we all have the same goals and work incredibly hard every day to achieve that. There’s a solidarity that comes from building and scaling a solid foundation together.
What was your first week at Common like?
My first week at Common was very culture-focused. I onboarded with a small group of newly hired peers, and a few times a day we met with department leaders for training. Since I was training with the same people, we naturally had a bond and were able to chat about our days and what we took away from the trainings. Meeting each department leader was excellent as it gave me immediate familiarity and I was able to comfortably connect with the teams right out of the gate.

Which city are you based in and what do you love about it? I’m currently living in Newport, Rhode Island, and there isn’t enough space here to write what I love about it. I moved here after living in NYC for many years, and although I still love the city, I feel calm and at peace here by the ocean. Plus I’m just a few hours from the city, so it’s the best of both worlds.
Favorite hobby? Outside cycling and yoga! I love cycling along the coast and pushing my physical limits, and yoga for healing, as well as mind and body balance.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian. That changed once I realized it involved more than playing with cute animals all day.
Your favorite team outing/bonding activity (a virtual hang out counts)? It’s simple, but a low-key meal is a great way to bond with your team. It humanizes each other by talking about things other than work. When we understand each other from a fundamental standpoint, we work more efficiently and empathetically together.
Favorite place? There are so many places I want to visit, but Amsterdam is currently at the top of my favorites. Cycling, cheese, pickled herring — it has it all really.
Favorite Common home? Common Marcy. It’s fresh and cozy — plus Williamsburg is an excellent place to live.
