When finding an apartment felt impossible to Paul, Common helped out

TwitterPinterestFacebook

Like many, Paul’s apartment search was difficult, but after finding out about Common and getting connected with our team — the process was a breeze. We spoke with Paul about how he found Common City Gardens and why he enjoys living in San Francisco.

Hi Paul! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I grew up on a farm in Ireland and was part of a large family — I have 4 brothers and 5 sisters. I went to University College Cork and after graduating I went to work for Danone in Paris and then went to Madrid. When I moved to the United States, I was living in Idaho and worked at Chobani.

Right now, I work as an RD Director at Eat Just. Growing up I always played badminton and hurling, but now I settle for golf, biking, and hiking. I’m married and I have a girl and a boy, Aila and Alan, and a dog named Milo.

How did you find out about Common? What has your experience been like so far?

The apartment search was really hard, almost impossible before I found Common. My niece who lives in Ireland comes to San Francisco frequently because of her job and she connected me to Common. I’ve been living at Common since the beginning of June and it’s great. The building is clean and it’s close to my job, which is a plus. The staff here are great, and my apartment has all the necessary furniture and kitchen utensils that I need.

Can you tell us a little about a great memory you’ve made while living at Common or in San Francisco?

One memory was when a current resident arrived at Common from Europe. It was a Sunday and he couldn’t access the key to his room. I happened to be in the lobby at this time and noticed his distress. We started talking in French and my wife and I, as well as a few other residents, were able to make sure he got in contact with the right people to access his apartment. We also set him up with food and bed clothing to get him started.

What are some reasons why you think other people should live at Common?

I’m actually trying to promote Common to my coworkers! Common is in the perfect location. There are a lot of good restaurants and grocery stores nearby, like Costco and Trader Joe’s. There are a ton of bars and a comedy club that I like to go to near Common also. The location is safe, the home is clean and modern, and the price is reasonable for San Francisco.

Some fun stuff:

Favorite local spots in San Francisco: So many, I can’t pick one, but I love driving around the city, it’s beautiful.

If you could move to a different city, which city would you choose and why? NY, it’s another dream city.

Ideal night out in San Francisco: Dinner then walk in the Embarcadero

Favorite neighborhood in San Francisco: Presidio beach area, Crissy field.

Dream celebrity roommate: Saoirse Ronan, Julia Roberts, Liam Neeson, or Will Smith

Favorite coffee shop: Stable Cafe — however, my wife’s coffee is the best!
